heritage home extensions & additions
Sydney's North Shore is full of incredible homes with long standing history. Local councils look to preserve some of this history in the residential housing sector by recognising significant homes as 'heritage homes'. Heritage sites gain their status from a range or factors, ranging from cultural significance to aesthetic value.
When it comes to renovating a heritage site, certain rules and regulations are in place to ensure that the history isn't knocked down or destroyed. However just because your home is heritage listed, this doesn't mean you can't create the home of your dreams. Over the years we have completed countless extensions and additions on heritage homes over Sydney, especially in both Upper North Shore and Lower North Shore suburbs like Mosman, Roseville and Wahroonga. Some of the beautiful features we like to accentuate in heritage projects are sandstone and brickwork, internal detail to ceilings, fireplace areas as well as windows and glazing. Alterations and additions allows you to create more space by extension, first floor additions and change layouts to create new areas of the home while keeping and highlighting the homes beautiful heritage values.
